Fragrant, flavorful almond extract isn’t just for weddings! Enjoy this almond cake for any occasion. The only thing that could make it any better is a scoop of ice cream on the side.
I don’t have grapeseed oil. What do you recommend using as a substitute? Thanks
Hi Becky, A "neutral oil" is a flavorless cooking oil such as vegetable, grapeseed, and canola. The types of oil are recommended in baking for their clean, simple flavor. Happy Baking!
The Almond Cake Receipe requires 5 ounces egg whites. Is that equivalent to 5 large eggs minus the yolks?
Hi Tonie, From our test kitchen - Depends on the eggs. It will between 4 to 5 eggs. Large eggs - 4, Medium - 5. Happy Baking!
Do you have a cookbook
Hi Darlene, We have a link to our latest recipe booklet here: https://swansdown.com/2020/12/04/cake-recipes-worth-passing-down/ You may also contact our Consumer Affairs department at 1-800-535-1961 and they would be happy to send you copies of others in our archive. Happy Baking!
I made these as cupcakes and they turned out delicious! They did become quite dry the day after baking - how should remaining iced cake be stored?
Hi MK, Feedback from our pastry chef would be; You can leave them unrefrigerated, in a covered container for a day or two.
If they won't be eaten by the next day, you can place them in the refrigerator in a covered container. Take them out 10 minutes before they want to eat them.
The main takeaway is to make sure they are are in an airtight container. Happy Baking!
Love your flour I have been using it for 35 years!
Thank you for your wonderful product!
