Apple Pie Cake

When you don’t feel like rolling out pie crusts or you just want to change things up, the family will love this easy dessert – fresh, thinly sliced apples tossed in butter and cinnamon, baked into a tender cake and served with vanilla ice cream.

  • I think this recipe couldn't would be better if you would just put the apples inside the dough it's a very thick dough. It is I would agree that it's very difficult recipe to understand.

    • Thank you Paul for the feedback. We love hearing from our Swans Down users. We'll forward the info on to our Kitchen for consideration. Happy baking!

  • Just ok, better the second day.
There are some issues with the recipe as written:
calls for baking powder in the ingredients but uses baking soda in the directions.
    When are the eggs added?
    When is the vanilla added?
I ended up using half baking soda and half baking powder (I had already added baking SODA -- then saw the difference and managed to get some of that out and replaced with baking POWDER)
I guessed and added the eggs in with the butter and sugar and added the vanilla in with the milk.
All of these guesses on my part could have effected the results. Not sure if I'll try this one again, but others seem to have liked it.
