Pizzelles are wafer-like cookies delicately flavored with anise (or any flavor extracts you like). Dust them with confectioners’ sugar and enjoy them dipped in coffee or tea, served on the side with ice cream or topped with custard or fruit preserves and whipped cream.

If you don't care for anise, you can add lemon extract n place of. Also I make chocolate pizzelles by replacing anise with 1/2 cup Hershey's unsweetened baking cocoa. That is my mom's recipe and they are delicious.
I don't care for the anise flavor. Would I double the vanilla if I omitted the anise?
It's spelled "pizzelle," not "pizelle."
Oops....Thanks Linda! Happy Baking!
